What is Double glazier Burgess Hill ?

The term "double glazing" describes a window with two glass panes. The double-glazed sealed unit, also referred to as an insulated glass unit (IGU), is the major part of the window and is housed in a frame made of uPVC, aluminium, or wood.

A spacer bar separates two sheets of glass to generate an air gap that is then filled with an insulating gas to form the IGU. similar to a sandwich made with glass bread and air as the filling.

The main advantage of double glazing is thermal insulation, which helps a room stay warm while preventing cold air from entering from the outside, increasing the space's energy efficiency.

Conservatories Warninglid

Structure requirements were established in 2002 stating that all replacement windows must be at least double-glazed C rated, unless the property is a listed building or in a conservation area. Windows with double glazing significantly improve energy efficiency.

How does dual glazing function?

In order to prevent heat movement between two different temperature zones, double glazing creates an air gap (inside and outside).

In an IGU, two panes of glass are bonded together and spaced apart by a bar.

It doesn't 'trap heat,' but it does slow down the movement of heat to lessen heat loss. The spacing between the panes (typically 6-12mm) generates an air gap that slows down thermal transfer (hot or cold) by conduction.

Because there is little room for air to move, air convection is hindered, which further lessens heat transfer.
